The City of Piqua is accepting applications for summer employment for public works (parks/streets), and water departments. Candidates will perform general labor, painting and mowing tasks; operate light equipment to perform maintenance functions; maintain overall attractive appearance of City facilities. Applicants must be at least 18 years old at start date to be eligible. Start and stop dates are flexible with school schedules, but must be available to work M-F, 40 hours per week. Wage rate for the position will be $8.30 per hour.

The City of Piqua, Ohio is seeking applicants for a summer internship. The intern(s) will assist with Stormwater and Drinking Water Protection Programs. Responsibilities will include weekly water quality monitoring by visiting numerous sites and gathering field data. The successful applicant will have a high school diploma or GED and be currently enrolled in accredited college program with preferred course work in environmental sciences, biology, engineering, geology, chemistry or related field. Previous experience with a Canoe, Colorimeter, Pole camera and a Water Quality Sonde is a plus. This position may require lifting up to 50 lbs or more and navigating difficult terrain. A valid drivers’ license, and excellent oral and written communication skills, is required. Wage rate for position is $10.00 per hour. The City of Piqua is seeking applications for an intern to assist in the Health Department with the enforcement of property maintenance including nuisance complaints (e.g., high weeds and grass). The successful applicant will have a high school diploma or GED and be currently enrolled in accredited college program with preferred course work in biology, microbiology, chemistry or related field.
