Transit Service
The Miami County Transit Service provides all public transit services to the people of Piqua as well as the county.
The City of Piqua owned and provided a curb-to-curb, demand responsive public transit service in the City of Piqua from 1981-2007. The federal and state public transit grant programs that made it financially possible to provide public transit decided that both the Piqua and Miami County Transit systems would have to consolidate and that Miami County would deliver all of Piqua’s public transit services.
The Piqua and Tipp City City Managers and Troy Safety and Services Director all serve on a new (2007) public transit steering committee to advise the Miami County Commissioners on the issue of long-term funding of public transit in Miami County. The City of Piqua also has membership on the Miami County Transit Advisory Committee.
Miami County Transit Service rules will be posted in their vehicles and are available at the Miami County Transit Office at 510 W. Water St., in the Hobart Government Center, Troy.
