FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
APRIL 5, 2024
The City of Piqua has launched an initiative to map the water service lines both owned and maintained by the City and those owned and maintained by utility customers. Over the next few months, the City of Piqua will be working to identify and catalog all service lines, including those in utility customers' homes.
While water quality reports for the City of Piqua consistently reveal that lead levels are not detectable or well below the action level recommended by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the City of Piqua is participating as a federal requirement for all public water suppliers. Municipalities and other water suppliers nationwide are undertaking this same initiative as part of the EPA's directive.
The City requests that utility customers complete the short survey by June 30 to assist the City in completing its inventory to report to the EPA by the federal deadline of October 2024.
To learn more about the initiative and to complete the survey, visit piquaoh.gov/leadlines. For questions not answered on the webpage or to request an appointment for a City team member to conduct the survey on the resident’s behalf, call 937.778.2018.
