(AMP), assisting with recovery efforts anticipated following Winter Storm Fern that is sweeping across the country this weekend.

Four Piqua team members — Russel Eichhorn, Justin Foutz, Hayden Hall and Ken Wagner — deployed to Forest City, North Carolina, with bucket trucks and a support vehicle to join other AMP member communities in coordinated restoration efforts. Staff from the City of Wapakoneta joined the Piqua team for response to Forest City. Forecasts for the area indicate significant ice accumulation and the potential for widespread power outages.

“We’re proud of the commitment and compassion demonstrated by our crews in volunteering to support this effort,” Piqua Power System Director RJ Monnier said. “Providing mutual aid is a key part of being a public power utility, and we’re honored to support our fellow communities in times of need.”

Personnel remaining in Piqua will maintain sufficient staffing levels to address any issues that may arise on the local electric system related to the incoming weather. Current forecasts do not indicate ice accumulation within the City’s service territory.
