1R4A6027Members of the Piqua Power System team shared electricity safety training with fourth-grade students at Piqua Central Intermediate School this week.

Ken Wagner and Russel Eichhorn used the energy bike to demonstrate how students’ pedaling can be converted to energy to illuminate light bulbs and the electric safety tabletop demonstration board to showcase how electricity from poles interacts with humans, vehicles, wildlife and trees.

The interactive sessions showcase to the students how electricity moves and is grounded as well as how to remain safe around electric poles and transformers.
