** UPDATE 11:50 a.m.**
To safely complete repairs, electric service has been temporarily disconnected along Broadway/Riverside Drive from Gill Street to Washington Avenue. Approximately 70 residences are currently without power and service is expected to remain off for several hours while crews complete the work.

Prior to beginning repairs, Piqua Power System performed switching operations that reduced the outage from approximately 900 customers to about 70 affected homes.

Due to the nature of the damage and the work required to safely remove and replace the pole, temporarily disconnecting power is the safest method for crews and the public.

The City of Piqua appreciates the community’s patience as crews work to safely restore service. Updates will be provided as they become available.
