The City of Piqua intends to make application to the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) Office of Community Development to access funding available under the Fiscal Year 2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Small Cities Program, a federally-funded program administered by the State of Ohio. The City of Piqua is eligible for $150,000 of CDBG Community Development Allocation Program funding; provided the City meets applicable program requirements. On April 24, 2023 the City conducted its first public hearing to inform citizens about the entire CDBG program, how funds may be used, what activities are eligible, and other important program requirements. Based on both citizen input and local officials’ assessments of the City’s needs, the City of Piqua is looking at applying for the CDBG Community Allocation Program for the Program Year 2023 Grant Cycle.

This second of two required public hearings will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers at the Municipal Government Complex, 201 West Water Street, Piqua, Ohio to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on the City’s proposed CDBG Application, before the City submits its application to the Ohio Development Services Agency. The application deadline is June 14, 2023.

Citizens are encouraged to attend this public hearing on May 24, 2023 to express their views and comments on the City’s proposed CDBG Community Development Allocation application. The Municipal Government Complex is a handicapped accessible facility.  If a participant will need auxiliary aids (interpreter, braille or taped material, assistive listening devices, other) due to a disability, please contact the Development Department prior to Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at (937) 778-2030 in order to ensure that your needs will be accommodated.
