Effective September 11, 2023, the Municipal Government Complex (MGC) buildings operating hours will change to 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This decision is made out of careful consideration of the needs of our residents and with the efficient operation of our departments in mind.
Reorganizations in the Health and Income Tax Departments and the recent upgrade of software in our website and the Utility Business Office, which significantly increased real-time bill payment options available to customers, allow this change to be made without significant impacts on citizen services provided at the MGC.
A 4:00 p.m. closing time will bring departments in the MGC in line with the schedules of other city departments they support. This alignment facilitates better inter-departmental coordination and promotes efficiency in our operations. Management expects to realize significant overtime savings as a result.
Despite the change in hours, our commitment to customer service remains unwavering. City staff will continue to prioritize our residents' needs and should there be a requirement outside of the new operational hours, our team will make themselves available until 5:00 p.m. by appointment. The ability to schedule an arrangement ensures that we remain accessible while optimizing our operations.
