The City of Piqua requires all persons performing plumbing work, both residential and commercial, within the City of Piqua to obtain a Plumbing Permit. All plumbing systems must be in compliance with the Ohio Plumbing Code.
In order to apply for a Plumbing Permit in the City of Piqua, you must be registered with the city. Please refer to our “Contractor Registration” link for that information. Please note that a homeowner who is performing plumbing work on his/her primary residence is not required to register with the city. Also, contractor registration is not required for contractors who are only performing work on Irrigation Systems.
For Commercial permits, please note that approval must be obtained by the plumbing inspector prior to issuance. You must submit a complete set of sealed water & drainage drawings & the completed plumbing permit application to the inspector.
Completed Plumbing Permit applications can be mailed to the Piqua Health Department, 201 W. Water Street, Piqua, OH 45356 or via email to mkinney@piquaoh.org. Payment can be dropped off during normal business hours Monday thru Friday 8 am-1 pm & 2 pm-5 pm. We are located on the 2nd floor at the above address. Please note that we do not accept credit card or debit card payments.
Once approved, you will receive a copy of the plumbing permit in the mail, along with a receipt if not given at time of application. You may call the Miami County Public Health District to schedule an appointment with a plumbing inspector at #937-573-3500, or one of the inspectors will make contact with you to schedule an inspection.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL ALL DOCUMENTATION IS RECEIVED ALONG WITH PAYMENT.
If you have any questions concerning plumbing permit applications, please contact Melissa at the Piqua Health Department at 937-778-2060.
