PART-TIME THREAT ASSESSMENT OFFICER
The City of Piqua is seeking qualified applicants for the part-time position of Threat Assessment Officer. The Threat Assessment Officer’s primary duties are to provide public safety in educational environments by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing criminal laws and promoting good community relations. The selected candidate also observes and apprehends violators; conducts or assists with investigations; physically restrains/subdues suspects; makes arrests; makes required reports; and testifies in court. The City of Piqua, Ohio, a Charter City of just under 21,000, approximately 25 miles north of Dayton in Miami County, is seeking a full-time Law Director/Prosecutor.
The Law Director/Prosecutor reports directly to the City Manager and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The position plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Legal Department including responsibility for civil litigation, drafting and reviewing legal documents, legal representation at City Commission and other City meetings, criminal prosecutions, and providing municipal related legal advice to elected officials and City staff. Graduation from an accredited law school and membership in good standing of the Ohio State Bar is required. Five or more years of municipal law experience is required.
