The tenth season of the Piqua Community Farmers Market wraps up this week with the annual Apple Pie Baking Contest. The market, located on High Street in front of the Piqua Public Library runs from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. each Thursday.
Visitors to the market will still find locally grown produce available including potatoes, eggplant, okra, peppers and cucumbers. There is also large selection of pumpkins, gourds, decorative table gourds and mums available. There is also locally produced honey, cheese and homemade craft items including jewelry, home décor and melts.
The apple pie baking contest is open to anybody who would like to participate and cash prizes will be awarded in both adult and youth (12 & under) categories. Details about the contest can be found on the Piqua community farmers market website at www.piquafarmersmarket.com
