Have you ever wondered how much it costs to operate during a large snow event? Earlier this week during the Piqua City Commission Meeting, Piqua City Manager Paul Oberdorfer provided a cost breakdown from the major snow event in February.

Total Cost of Snow Event:  $36,243.90
Number of Employees:  25
Hours Worked:  344.52
Number of Days:  4
Employee Labor Cost:  $13,773.44
Equipment Used:  2 backhoes, loader, skid steer, and sidewalk
Cost of Equipment Used:  $3,325 equipment
Salt Used:  130 tons
Cost of Salt Used:  $6,281.60
Trucks Used:  10
Miles Driven:  3,080
Cost of Miles Driven:  $10,020.00
Fuel Charges:  $2,843.86
