Miami County – Miami County Public Health is issuing an update on the COVID-19 in Miami County.
As of today, Monday, April 27, 2020, Miami County is reporting 136 positive COVID-19 cases and 25 deaths due to COVID-19, in Miami County. The case age range is less than 1 year old to 96 years old, with 81 females & 55 males.
In an effort to transition Ohio into reopening, Governor DeWine announced today that beginning May 1st, 2020, certain industries can begin to reopen. All businesses that are open must operate under 3 guiding principles:
- Protect the health of employees, customers and their families.
- Support community efforts to control the spread of the virus
- Lead in responsibility getting Ohio back to work
The new order states that on May 1st, 2020, all health procedure that do not require an over-night stay in the hospital can move forward. Dental practices & veterinary services may begin to operate as well. On May 4th, 2020, manufacturing, construction & distribution can begin to reopen and on May 12th, 2020, consumer retail & services can begin to reopen.
The Stay-at-Home orders will remain in place for gatherings of 10 people or more.
