Miami County – Miami County Public Health is issuing an update on the COVID-19 in Miami County.

As of today, Monday, May 4, 2020, Miami County is reporting 144 positive COVID-19 cases and 27 deaths due to COVID-19, in Miami County. The case age range is less than 1 year old to 96 years old, with 86 females & 58 males.

In this phase of reopening Ohio & Miami County, there will be a significant increase in COVID-19 testing. As the community moves forward, MCPH wants to remind everyone that with this increase in testing, there will be an increase in positive COVID-19 case for Miami County. This is expected and does not indicate a sudden increase in the spread of the virus. Community members need to continue to be diligent in social distancing and wearing face coverings where social distancing is difficult to maintain.

As we reopen Ohio & Miami County, the uncertainty about the future can seem overwhelming. This is a challenging time and it’s important to remember that we are all in this together. When community members begin to ease back into business, remember, Be Kind, Be Patient, We Are in This Together.

As the Responsible Restart Ohio and the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve,

MCPH will work hard to keep the community informed and updated on new guidelines and recommendations.
