The Chip and Fog Sealing method of pavement preservation is being introduced to the City of Piqua. The Chip Seal consists of applying small aggregate to a thin layer of liquid asphalt. The aggregate cures with the liquid asphalt and protects the pavement surface from weathering. A Fog Seal is applied on the chip seal to increase aggregate retention and make the road smooth to drive on. The finished product looks and feels like a resurfaced road.
