The annual Piqua 4th Fest is back! The City of Piqua invites you to a family fun packed day beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4th at Fountain Park. We will kick the festivities off with a bicycle parade through the park. Come with your bike already decorated or decorate your bike upon arrival at the park, decorations will be provided. Following the decorating, there will be a bike parade through the park ending at the Pavilion with prizes being awarded on stage!
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Fountain Park Family-Fun Activities
Madcap Puppets, out of Cincinnati, will be back and are performing two shows inside the dining hall. The first performance will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by the second performance at 1:30 p.m. We are excited to welcome back the Piqua Civic Band, who will be performing at 2:00 p.m. on stage at the Pavilion.
There will be plenty of exciting activities happening throughout the park at no cost including putt-putt golf, face-painting, caricature portraits, a photo booth, balloon sculpturing, a dunk tank, and so much more. Enjoy science experiments with the COSI-Science Exhibition and test your fears with our new attraction this year, a high ropes course and a 32-foot rock wall!
The Piqua Fire Department and Careflight will be joining the festivities in the afternoon with various demonstrations by the baseball field.
Non-profit organizations will be selling various types of food and drinks, as well as providing some kids activities. Bring your appetite and enjoy everything from pizza, hotdogs and walking tacos to lemon shake ups and slices of pie! Come on out and support our local Piqua non-profit organizations.
6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Lock 9 Park Festivities
After a short break join us at Lock 9 Park for live music and more food! The Riverfront will be the backdrop for the evenings event which will begin at 6:00 p.m. leading up to the fireworks. American flags and other goodies will be distributed to the children throughout the evening.
On stage, Mike Perkins out of Columbus, OH will open the night with original songs and some covers followed by our headlining act Paradise Island Band who is a six-piece band who play songs from all decades! Get your dancing shoes ready for a fun and exciting show!
There will be five food trucks lining Lock 9 Park including TK’s BBQ-n-Fixins, Tin Roof Mobile Food, TJ’s Nice Cream Truck and Gourmet Hot Dogs, Kona Ice and Susie’s Big Dipper. There will also be roasted nuts from Nutz 4 U for sale to enjoy during the music or for you to take with you to snack on during the fireworks!
To top off this spectacular day of fun, beginning at 10:00 p.m., you will be mesmerized by an amazing firework display over our Great Miami River. Viewing sites will be on the bike path bridge, Main Street bridge and along the bike path south of the bike path bridge. Fireworks are provided by Pyrotecnico, a family-owned fireworks business and are being shot off from the land of the local Piqua Materials. You do not want to miss this!
