WHEREAS, the Hartzell Propeller Company is celebrating their 100th Anniversary here in the City of Piqua; and
WHEREAS, what started out as a neighborly conversation between Orville Wright and Robert Hartzell a century ago, has evolved into a company that is now the worldwide leader in propeller design and manufacturing; and
WHEREAS, for 100 years, Hartzell Propeller has designed, manufactured and certified propellers for the aviation community; and
WHEREAS, for the past one hundred years. Hartzell Propeller has provided the City with jobs, world recognition, prosperity and civic improvements; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Piqua should be justly proud to share with the Hartzell Propeller Company their success in our community; and we congratulate them for 100 years of outstanding corporate business in the City of Piqua.
NOW, THEREFORE, I Kathryn B. Hinds, Mayor of the City of Piqua, Ohio, do hereby proclaim July 18, 2017 as HARTZELL PROPELLER DAY in the City of Piqua.
