Power Safety Tips

If you see a downed or sagging power line stay away from it, warn others away and call Piqua Power System immediately.

If a power line falls across a car that you’re in, stay in the car until help arrives. If you must leave the car, jump from it making certain that no part of your body is touching the car when your feet touch the ground. When you hit the ground keep your feet together and hop until you are clear of the downed wire. If you touch the car and ground at the same time you could be electrocuted.

Report all power line hazards to Piqua Power System or local emergency services such as your police or fire department.
